Andrea Brittan

IMG_0879Andrea is currently seeking representation for her first novel, Owner of a Lonely Heart, which is inspired by two decades spent living in Hong Kong. For much of that time she worked as a teacher but in 2007 she took the opportunity to pursue her love of writing by crossing the classroom floor and becoming a student. She now holds a Post Graduate Diploma and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, both from Hong Kong universities. Since returning to the UK, Andrea has begun a second novel, also inspired by her time in the Far East. She has experimented with creative non-fiction and poetry as well as the short story form and is particularly interested in exploring cross-cultural issues. She has been published in the journal Two Thirds North, on travel writer, Helen Moat’s blog, Double Espresso, and in Door To Door, a poetry anthology produced by City University of Hong Kong. She has also been a finalist in the RTHK annual short story competition and her work is to be included in Afterness: Literature from the New Transnational Asia.
